Inside Indian Premier league

Inside Indian Premier league

It was once upon a time when test matches were given utmost priority and were rightfully tagged as “a gentleman’s game”.

Those five day matches in the Caribbean coastlines were so nostalgic to watch. Drums, blow horns and rhythmic claps were so sweet to hear.

Whether it is Lords or Eden Gardens, we have always witnessed history being created and records being broken. However with the intervention of weak human patience, we have truncated our zeal to watch them.

Our only fascination has now become a sort term sport; a sport filled with glamor, girls and bollywood-masala.

And therefore we welcomed the birth of the new T20 format; the great IPL : “The game that has provided everything except transparent cricket”.
As IPL started holding its ground, the charm of watching ODIs and test cricket were harshly ignored.

The name of IPL should be quoted as BPL aka “betting premier league”.

I think Indian Premier’s League is one of the notorious arenas of match fixing events. From scandals to fixings, IPL has eroded the tag of “a gentleman’s game” into a “gambler’s paradise”.

With a perfect amalgamation of Bollywood beats , deshi thumkas and million dollar salaries: IPL has always allured top class players from the world.

“I often wonder why Bollywood is tying a knot with cricket when both are completely different professions”

It is very pity to see that a country spends most of its money in uplifting cricket. Is there any place for football, hockey and badminton? Or our boys are weak enough to play it.

Let’s talk a bit about BCCI: the richest and the most corrupted board in the world. You can find here “dollars floating all around”, bookies roaming freely and glamor meeting its flamboyancy.

And what’s more surprising is!

“The man who was questioned for match fixing was boldly standing in the world cup ceremony”.

I often feel low when I find people overreacting over IPL matches. It is very ridiculous to see friends quarreling over silly matches when winning and losing are already decided.
Bringing transparency to IPL could be a hard task. There is a strong nexus of several millionaires, industrialists and politicians.
These men have already created a firewall that is impossible to break. However I really feel that law should be stringent enough to punish those culprits and bring a clean game.
